Hey y'all. I know, I know, it's been a while and a half since I posted here. But here I am now, aren't I? I'll give you all the tea on what's been up in a second.
A lot has happened to justify why I've been MIA, but the most significant two reasons are a) I started writing professionally and got so busy with it that I didn't bother to update this blog anymore. Why write for free when you get paid for it? Not proud of this logic, but it is what it is.
And b), I realized that all our paths are so different that the things and lessons I share might not resonate with even one of you 85 subscribers. Or, what if my big realizations are something you guys knew all along? Or maybe you need to do the opposite of what worked for me to grow. I don't know, you know? It's foolish of me to assume that my realizations and lessons and journey is significant for anyone but me.
However, after further contemplation, I concluded that I never did start posting here hoping for people to relate to what I'm going through. I love writing. And, I love documenting my growth as I go through life in my twenties. So I'm going to continue writing for me posting it here simply for the fun of it.
So let's cut to the chase. What's been up?
Firstly, I had surgery. No, it was not planned, it was sudden. And my god was it crazy. Being at home during recovery (I'm in recovery now as I write this blog) has made me realize a LOT, and that's what I'll be sharing in my next blog post. (Maybe, no promises, it's scary to post personal stuff on the internet, you know how it is)
Secondly, I took a semi-solo trip to Italy which I'm pretty sure has altered the core of my being in the most magical way possible. Most of you follow me on social media and have seen my posts about it, but that might be something I write about soon as well.
Lastly and probably the most life-changing of them all, I started writing professionally. I guess I have this blog to thank for that. Not sure. But, it's been a crazy roller coaster of a year and I hate to think that all my lessons and realizations and funny stories and poems are going to get buried forever in my iPhone notes. They're too close to my heart for me to not do justice to them.
What does that mean? More content for you!
It's super scary sharing personal details on here. Most people seem to discourage sharing personal details on social media too. Somewhere along the way sharing became oversharing.
But I figure this is my blog. And social media is my account. And I LOVE documenting my life, sharing my experiences, creating content, and expressing who I am. These are MY accounts. People are here to see who I am. And this is who I am. I shut her up long enough, but I owe her more than that because that bitch somehow got through dental school, set up a solid side business before graduating, navigated corporate settings with a total medical background, and bought herself a solo trip all while oversleeping and eating Kurkure.
So, if you choose to follow along my journey, I request that you bring nothing but good vibes (and possibly iced coffee too because come on, some things never change).
