Maybe, One Day

We were infinite
so lost in love we were
but life had a different plan 
for the moments yet to occur
I wish i could forever stay
keeping you so near
but somehow something changed
and suddenly, you disappeared
All the things we planned to do
the words i left unsaid
often dampened my cheeks
and haunted me instead
I wish it didn't have to end
just one more day with you
but i tried and tried all alone
till my heart broke into two
I learnt to let go then
when there was nothing left to say
so i left it to the universe
saying maybe, one day.
